Happy Holidays!

Took these cute photos in our dining room Thanksgiving weekend. Drew was a little apprehensive at first, (see above), but he soon warmed up to the camera, (see below). He loves Santa or "Danta" as he calls him and is looking forward to leaving Santa a HOT DAWG on Christmas Eve. Ha! Ha! We asked him what he wanted for Christmas...his reply "Hot Dawgs". You would think we didn't feed him. LOL. Happy Holidays from our family to yours!

It's the Great Pumpkin Patch Charlie Brown....

Which one should I get?
I like that one over there mommy!

Today we visited the Ashland Berry Farm so that Drew could pick out our pumpkin. We all had a wonderful time, however we discovered that Drew is scared of witches and some Christmas trees!

Here are a few pics!

More Birthday Fun and Updates

Drew had a wonderful party even though he was a little fussy. We initially thought it was from teething and no morning nap, however when Drew's daycare called us on Tuesday and told us to come pick him up, we knew something was wrong. Turns out he has something called "Hand, Foot and Mouth", a common virus picked up at daycares. Who knew? What kind of name is that anyway? Symptoms include: Fever, mouth, hand and feet blisters, lack of appetite and general fussiness. Poor thing! We kept him home all week. He is doing better but still not drinking very much. We took him back to the Pediatrician this morning and she gave us some tips about trying to get liquids down, but if that doesn't work we have to go back Monday! Think positive.

Daycare. Did I mention above that Drew started daycare? I'm very fortunate that my employer offers flexible work time, so I'm working 8-2:30pm daily so that Drew and I have the afternoons together before Daddy gets home. It seems to be working out great and Drew really likes his friends at daycare....and the toys!

Here are some additional photos from Drew's 1st Birthday! Enjoy!

Happy Birthday Drew!

It's hard to believe, but Drew turns 1 on March 5th!

To celebrate, we held a family party on Saturday, complete with Loot bags, balloons, finger foods and of course, cake! The theme: Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.

Here are a few photos! Will post more soon!

It was a BIG Weekend at our house!

1st things 1st: Drew has discovered that he can stand up without holding on to anything! It is so cute. After about 2 seconds he realizes what has happened and he either falls down or starts crying.

2nd: My husband and I met Bill Clinton! Yep! I'm a big fan! Bill was the 1st President I voted for after I turned 18 and he was in Richmond Saturday hosting a rally for Hillary. We got their early and were able to secure a good spot down front. After his hour long speech, we were able to shake hands. It was definitely a moment! He has soft hands....my husband tells me to stop saying that but it is true. The Secret Service were all over him while he was working the crowds...they came around yelling "no pens!"..........

Sadly, Drew had a date with Grandma Carolyn and was unable to make it! For those of you counting, I have now seen 2 Presidents live and in color....Bill and GW.....of course, GW was only because I wanted to see Ricky Martin perform and I met Bill......

Anyway, our State Primary is tomorrow. For those in VA, MD and DC.....don't forget to vote!

and for the Drew fans that look at this site.....please check back on Valentine's Day for an extra special picture!

A Star is Born!

I know it's been awhile since we last posted but we've been busy visiting folks and learning how to blow bubbles and throw food! Yippee!
In preparation for Drew's 1st Birthday in March, we took him to get some pictures taken to commemorate the occasion. Now, as you know my dad is also a photographer but he doesn't specialize in kids photos so we wanted to go somewhere with props....do you see any props???? All in all, a nice deal for the money, but I was a little disappointed with the props or lack thereof.
In other news, it looks like Mickey Mouse will be the theme we will be using for Drew's party...we have a Mickey cake and Mickey plates, napkins, cups and balloons....what more could we need? I'm a little partial to Goofy myself, but Mickey is pretty cool and Drew LOVES him and I mean LOVES! When the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse comes on in the morning, he drops his bottle and just stares at the TV.....it is so cute.
Anyway, hope all is well with you and yours! We will post soon so you can get your Drew "fix".

First Restaurant Experience

No Autographs Please!
Notice who is at the head of the table?
Seinfeld is really funny!!!!

Today to celebrate Aunt Kim and Daddy's Birthday we all went to Red Lobster for lunch! It was my first time in a restaurant and boy was my mommy nervous. Not to worry though, I was so good that people kept coming over to tell me how cute I was and wasn't I though in my little polo shirt?
Tomorrow I'm going back to the pediatrician for a follow-up and then mommy said maybe we could go to Target because they are having a sale on Huggies! Yeah! I like Target because I always get a toy!!!!

See you soon!

The Joy of Food

This is what I look like when Grandma feeds me!

Yesterday Drew learned a new "trick" when eating. As the spoon approaches, he will open his mouth and then at the last minute turn his head so the spoon hits his cheek. He thinks it is hilarious!
Also, today for the first time Drew actually fell over into his toy box. He was trying to get a hammer and fell in...all you could see was feet! It was so funny. I wish I had the camera. He thought it was funny too and loved that he was in the box with all his toys.

Happy New Year!

I'm so cute!
Play time with mommy!
Happy New Year!
What's that? A cookie? Let me investigate.

Drew was awake at Midnight and thus had to endure family photos to commemerate the occasion!

New Years' Eve brought a visit from Grandma and Grandpa who brought Drew his very own pewter cup with his name on it.....he cannot wait to drink from it.

Since then, Drew has learned that our house is bigger than his play blanket and has been "on the move." So far, he loves the kitchen and Alexis' water bowl! Yikes!

It's been a wonderful holiday. This weekend we hope to visit Aunt Becky who hasn't been feeling well and Nana and Me-Maw. Also, Grandma and Grandpa are going to babysit so mommy and daddy can go enjoy a lunch out on the town using one of the many restaurant gift cards we got.
